Dutch eredivisie play off: Musa power Venlo to safety

Super eagles whizkid, Ahmed Musa have helped his team, VVV Venlo retain its eredivisie status in Holland after he scored the equalizer in the 2-2 home draw with FC Zwolle in the final game of the play off.

The Former JUTH FC and Kano Pillars player scored the goal that powered his team to safety in 87th minutes.

Online with National LIFE sport form his base after the match, the elated Musa said he thank God that made it possible for him to do well and make his team remain in the top flight, he however promise to hit eagles camp tomorrow.

He said "I am happy with myself and my teammates, we really deserve to remain in top level here, we left it so late but now I thank God we were able to retain our position in the top league. I will be in Nigeria tomorrow ahead of our game with Argentina"

Ahmed Musa have scored 7 goals this term for VVV Venlo.

MUSA GIVES VENLO WIN IN PLAY OFF

The hope of VVV Venlo to remain in the top flight of Dutch football was brightened when its Nigeria import, Ahmed Musa score the winner for them in a play off match against Volendam.

The Former JUTH FC and Kano pillars winger score the winner in 90th minute of the encounter after his previous efforts were saved by goalie.
He is looking forward to score goals that will see his team retain its position as eredivisie team.

He said "I thank God for given me the goal today as well as given us victory, we want to remain in top flight, I will do my best t score more goals in remaining matches in the play off"

Dudu goes on top in Finland

Former U-23 international, McPhelin Dudud Omagbemi has scored his third goal in the 5 weeks old Finland Veikkauliga 2011.
Dudu scored 10 goals last term and his joint top scorer in the league now with three goals.
He scored the 3rd goal whne he struck in 13th minutes in 2-2 away draw with Haka Valkeakoski.

Another Nigerian, Dickson Nwakaeme scored is 2nd goal of the season in his team, KuPS kuopio2-1 win over IFK Marienhamm.

Why I dumped premier league teams – Taiwo

Taye Ismail Taiwo, Nigeria International defender who just sign a contract with Italian Gant, AC Milan has disclosed the rationale behind his decision to join the roseneris.

The Olympique Marseille defender known as Tornado said he always wanted to play for big team but decide to shun offers from England teams because he believe his style of play suit Italy more than  England.


The Former Gabros and Lobi stars of Makurdi player said “I decide to pick AC Milan ahead of the teams that want my services in England, though I always wanted to play for big team and AC Milan is in the class of Manchester United and Chelsea, I always dream to play for team with the caliber of players at Milan and above all my style of play will fit Italy better than England”

Adefemi’s fiancée laud Xanthi

Folashade Adeshina, the Fiancée of Late Nigeria International, Adefemi Olubayo has applaud his Greek club, Skoda Xanthi for according his late Fiancé respect even in death.

She said she appreciate all that they have done for him and this make her more happy that he meant a lot to them and she believe Olubayo will be happy in death.

In a chat with Kasaloy sport, Folashade Adesina reacting to the friendly match organized in his honour by Greek club to raise money to help his family and as well erect a monument in his remembrance and above al retire the jersey number 13 he wore while playing for the team before he met his death in auto crash.

She said “I am indeed very grateful to the club for the honour they gave to him. I am overwhelmed by their actions, it means they appreciate his job over there to have done al these for himand I am very sure Olu (bayo) will be happy where he is now. I thank them for this gesture accord him. May God bless them”

Kelechi Okoye backs in India premier league


Former Heartland FC and JUTH FC midfielder, kelechi Okoye and his team mates at Shillong Lajong in Indian second division league has return to the India I league for the second time running after going down last season.
After making it to the I-League for the second time, Shillong Lajong were on Cloud 9, a happening nightclub in a posh hotel in Shillong all to unwind.

Okoye said “This is a good time for us here, we have gotten promotion back to the elite division, we want to be at the top and we are back for good, we went to club to celebrate and ease out the tension. It was not easy but having gone this far we have to thank God, I a looking forward to new season in I League”

XANTHI RETIRED ADEFEMI'S JERSEY





Skoda Xanthi of Greece have retired the number 13 jersey wore by Late Nigeria International, Adefemi Olubayo (Oloumpagio Antefemi) as a mark of honour for the slain star.

The Bolougne of France players died in an auto crash on Monday, April 18th on his way to airport in Greece to visit Nigeria to conclude preparation for his wedding.

The club which valued his deceased player played a friendly match against Aris FC in memory of Adefemi Olubayo, the final score was 2-1 in favour of Xanthi.

Ten euros was the gate-fee collected from spectators that attended the game, all the proceeds will be given to Adefemi's family.

Ukah return to Lodz first team


New Super Eagles on the block, Ugochukwu Ukah is back to the first team of Widzew Lodz, Poland after he was sent to reserve team by the board of the club for been convicted for drink driving.
The Former Parma FC of Italy center back rejoins his teammates ahead of the weekend match and the Italian born Nigeria could not hide his joy.
Speaking on phone from his base in Poland, Ukah said he is very happy to back in the team and will continue to do his best to better the team’s lot.

He said ''I returned to training with the main team yesterday (Thursday), I am very happy with this development. It was not a nice experience for me not to be with the main team, but the younger ones have learnt from me while I was there, some of them told me but I want to play with the main team and that will be the case now as I am back. I want to do well for the team as I was doing before the incident”
